November 18 – God’s Glory

Revelation 21: 22 – 23  NLT

I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light.”

Psalm 150   NLT

Praise the Lord!

Praise God in his sanctuary;
    praise him in his mighty heaven!
Praise him for his mighty works;
    praise his unequaled greatness!
Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
    praise him with the lyre and harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
    praise him with strings and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
    praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

In his sermon about God’s glory, Pastor Brian defined it like this:

“The best way to think of glory is as a quality of God’s being. It’s the perfection of his being, and the perfection of all his attributes. In God’s being, there is nothing limited, marred, partial, or ugly. Everything is perfect, and the emanation of that perfection is what we might think of as glory.”

As we discovered in looking at God’s grace, God is so perfect that he alone made a way for us to have a relationship with him. We certainly can’t live up to God’s perfection, yet he still loves us.

And that’s why we praise him. “Praise the LORD!” says the psalmist. Make today a day of praise. Put worship music on in your home and in your car. Sing along. Put this verse and psalm somewhere you can see it frequently today, and read it out loud through the day. Be brave enough to read it with enthusiasm and praise.

There’s another way you can praise God today and worship him for his perfection. Tonight at LSA there is a Worship Service from 7 to 9 pm. It’s totally about praising God through music. It doesn’t matter if you sing intune or not. Just come and praise our wonderful God.

Our song for today is Glorious Day by Casting Crowns.
