History

Believing in God’s Word and Spirit

With its early beginnings as a home church for Scottish settlers in the 1850s, Lakeshore St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church has been serving the communities of Tecumseh, Lakeshore, and surrounding areas in the name of God for 170 years. Thanks in large part to the dedication of its members and a generous donation of land following the First World War, LSA grew into a multi-family church focused on serving those around them. From this point forward, God has blessed the congregation with growth and a calling
that has impacted the lives of many throughout Essex County. In the early 1990s, LSA made its biggest move, constructing a built-to-plan facility which the church continues to call home today. While the congregation has ebbed and flowed throughout the late 90s to early 2000s, God continues to challenge the members of LSA to love those around them and preach the Word of God. As we look to the future, we are excited for what the Lord has planned, while continuing to recall our journey thus far.
