Welcome to LSA
Transformed People Transforming Communities
History
Believing in God’s Word and Spirit
With its early beginnings as a home church for Scottish settlers in the 1850s, Lakeshore St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church has been serving the communities of Tecumseh, Lakeshore, and surrounding areas in the name of God for 170 years. Thanks in large part to the dedication of its members and a generous donation of land following the First World War, LSA grew into a multi-family church focused on serving those around them. From this point forward, God has blessed the congregation with growth and a calling that has impacted the lives of many
throughout Essex County. In the early 1990s, LSA made its biggest move, constructing a built-to-plan facility which the church continues to call home today. While the congregation has ebbed and flowed throughout the late 90’s to early 2000’s, God continues to challenge the members of LSA to love those around them and preach the Word of God. As we look to the future, we are excited to see what the Lord has planned next for LSA and how we can impact our community for Christ.
Vision
Big dreams, big vision
Transformed People Transforming Communities
Romans 12:1-8 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly that you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, the prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
Mission
Why does LSA exist?
We exist to help people receive and develop new life in Christ
2 Corinthians 5:16-21 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
