Job Title: Kids and Jr Youth Christian Summer Camp Intern
Company: Lakeshore St Andrew’s Church (LSA Church).
Located in Tecumseh, ON, we exist to help people receive and develop new life in Christ. Matt 28:19-20.
LSA is a Bible based church that supports a traditional view of marriage: between a man and a woman.
Location: LSA Church, 235 Amy Croft Dr, Windsor
Duration: June – August (Part-time),
June: 10 hrs per week starting June 3rd until June 28th
July & August: 28 hrs per week the weeks of: July 2 – 19 ; July 29 – Aug 16; Aug 26 – 30
Full-time 40 hrs during 2 camp weeks: Kids Camp: July 22 – 26 & Junior Youth Camp: August 19 – 23
Job Description:
LSA Church is seeking 1 or 2 enthusiastic and dedicated Christian Interns to plan & run our July Kids Camp week and August Jr Youth Camp week. This internship offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and Jr youth, fostering their spiritual growth and providing them with memorable camp experiences. We are looking for graduating High School Students or College/University students/grads
Responsibilities:
– Assist in planning, organizing, and leading activities for Kids and Junior Youth Summer Camp according to the provided curriculum.
– Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of camp participants at all times.
– Facilitate discussions, games/activities, worship sessions, snacks, crafts and other camp activities for all 5 days of each camp that promote Christian values and teachings.
– Build positive relationships with campers, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
– Organize and recruit volunteers for both camps in July and August
– Collaborate with other interns, camp counselors (volunteers), and church staff to deliver a successful and impactful camp program.
– Support marketing to our community & within our church (ie. Foyer displays & signups)
– Provide pastoral care and support to campers as needed, addressing any spiritual, emotional, or behavioral concerns with empathy and understanding.
Qualifications:
– Strong personal Christian faith and values that align with a “fundamental faith based church” which follows the teachings in Scripture.
– Demonstrates a passion for working with children and junior youth.
– Previous experience volunteering or working in children’s ministry, youth ministry, or summer camps is preferred.
– Excellent communication, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with campers of varying ages and backgrounds.
– Energetic, creative, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a willingness to participate in all aspects of camp life.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, following direction from the Family Ministry Pastor and contributing ideas and suggestions.
– Must pass a Police Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check and adhere to LSA Church’s code of conduct and child protection policies.
